You won’t be overqualified as opposed to an education that has nothing to do with criminal justice or criminology or police operations. Kinesiology is a far cry from that but I am sure they will take into consideration you have an education and despite the core classes for your major you can at least read and write.

Around 1% on this planet have their Masters degree. Wouldn’t it make more sense to get into grad school and become MORE than just a cop? FBI, CIA, ICE – limitless positions….. with a BS – you are limited.

I would say you have a better chance with a grad school degree. Also lots of knowledge is never bad.

A masters degree would surely not hurt your chances. The more education you have, the better! I would go to grad school if you have the ability to do so. If you can get a police officer job now, and are willing and able to finish your masters degree within a reasonable amount of time after becoming a police officer, then that would be good too. Best of luck!
