I would think staying at the campus is more cost effective. I guess it depends on how often you will be going home, and the gas mileage of your vehicle.

You have to figure in more than just gas! Would you eat out more if you lived on campus? Would you party more? These things add up, too, and only you know those answers!

I would definitely live on campus.

Don’t just think about the money (which I think would maybe be about even – price of petrol vs. price of perhaps more socialising etc), think about the convenience.

Are you really willing to drive 43 miles early in the morning to get to a 9am lecture?

To be honest, the thought of that makes me shudder.

You might end up skipping lectures because you couldn’t be bothered to drive all that way (AND back), or you’d miss things because of traffic, or car problems, etc.

It sounds like an absolute nightmare.

I’d definitely live on campus.

Staying on campus is a better option.
