Well I’m not in NUI Galway so I can’t answer all the questions but I am in NUI Maynooth so the grading is the same.

We don’t get A’s, B’s etc.

We get first class honours, second class honours grade 1, second class honours grade 2, third class honours, pass, fail.

To pass you need to get over 40%. To get a first you need to get over 70%.

In the arts and humanities faculties you will find it is easy to pass but very difficult to get a first.

Books are expensive. The average book first hand in my experience was €50+.

For a job you should try the various on campus facilities as well as pubs and local supermarkets. These are the most likely to be flexible.

Im from Galway & my friends went to NUIG and they loved it. It’s a very big campus although a small bit outdated.

You’ll have to book your accommodation very early cause it gets snapped up quickly. Books are very expensive so your better off to buy them 2nd hand, possibly ABC bookshop in the Eyre Square shopping centre or they’ll be advertised on the students notice-board.

For all your information your best to go to the Students Union in the college and they are very helpful.

Best of luck=)
