Using the distance formula, but instead of number I have letters, so I’m having a hard time using the distance formula? Help please!??

The length and width of a rectangle are 6m and 4m. When each dimension is increased by the same amount, the area of the new rectangle is 50m^2. Find the dimensions of the new rectangle, to the nearest tenth of a metre. The answer is 6.1 & 8.1, however, I cannot get to this answer… [...]
