Quadratic formula:

(-b +/- sqrt(b^2 – 4ac)) / 2a

a,b,c are the coefficients of the quadratic.

Example: 4x^2 + 3x + 2

in this case 4 = a, 3 = b, and 2 = c

You simply substitute those values into the quadratic to get your answer. I hope this helps I am not sure if I hit the answer you were looking for.
