Since too many Americans do NOT get good educations the question is moot.

Are you kidding me? The GOP, the Democrats, & the TEA Party have made it abundantly clear that education should be limited only to those that can afforded private schools for both primary & higher education.

Well those who receive good education should be those who are trying hard in school and are succeeding in school and have plans on attending college.

There is no such thing as too many people with good educations.

The problem is the liberals have been turning our schools into indoctrination camps and many people are non-functional is spite of their ‘degrees’!

Well I’m fine with people going to college as long as they use the degree to do what they really wanted to do. My cousin got a business degree and then went to work at 24 hour fitness. I don’t want to be cruel but that was a dumb choice if you really just wanted to work at 24 hour fitness. The problem is kids don’t even know what they want to do when they’re 18. I did but I’m smart and put together. Maybe school should be more driven to what kids actually want to do instead of dumb knowledge for standardized tests.

You are missing the point…..we need that education to understand the job function…it’s just that they aren’t so special since over 100 other applicants have the same thing…supply and demand kicks in and you aren’t worth $100K anymore because the other guy is willing to take 75.

The problem is that the world keeps advancing and we haven’t picked up the slack in education. We know how complicated the current job markets are but we haven’t put it together that our kids are going to have to learn more within the same time frame. It’s just the way it is and the kids CAN do it…their brains are freaking sponges. So what’s stopping us? Unions, administrators, politicians, and even parents don’t understand any of it anymore. Every five years, a new tech, a new way, a new sector, a new headache as no one was prepared.

Anyone who wants a “good” education and has the aptitude for such. Not everyone wants, needs, or can achieve a high-level of education.

People who have worked hard and put forth the effort to get into a good school should go to college.
It sounds like you want the government to be in charge of who does what, as far as occupation is concerned.
And it sounds like you are a communist.
