I want to be a deputy or a head of a primary school.
I am seventeen and have experience working with children, I am doing some more next week.
I understand that you have to do a course thing to become a headteacher BUT I am going to university in 2012..
I am considering courses at the moment.
What do people think I would be better doing..
A degree in Primary education this incudes my QTS (takes 4 years)
or
A joint degree in sociology and education and then a masters to earn my PGCE (takes 4 years)
I’m not sure wether one would look better than the other..
Advice please.
If you want to be a primary teacher and nothing else, then take the four year program for that degree and get also the QTS. I think you want more than that. I know you want more than that so I suggest that you take the joint program in sociology and education and earn a PGCE. That would be a better choice for you to be a deputy or the head of a primary school. Good luck.
