If you get a PhD in Business you can expect to make $100,000+ easy as an assistant professor. The better the business school you work at the higher the salary. For example, University of North Carolina Kenan Flagler Business School has a mean pay of $155,000 for assistant professors. It is expected that if your PhD is in Finance you will make a bit more than your peers since you can easily go work private sector for double or triple what tenured profs make. The best thing about a Business PhD is that you are almost guaranteed a job after graduation since there is such a shortage of business professors. The bad part is that getting into a good program is incredibly difficult. For example the Wharton School at UPenn had over 1,300 applicants for less than 50 positions. Very very selective admissions process. Hope that sheds some light on Business PhD
