Everyone should learn English. However making it the “national language” would be unnecessary.

i think Americas primary language should be English .. but i believe we should also all be bi lingual because.. that connects u to other people and nations .. also because this country was built on immigrants that spoke different languages

I support English as our national language. I think it would be more orderly and unifying to an extent. However, I still feel that people should still be able to use their native languages at home to protect cultural identity. Citizens and others who live here should eventually learn English.

Yes. We need some stability, if it’s at least in primary language.

I would support that legislation.

If people are going to come here to live they should learn the language.

Yes the US was built by immigrants, but they didn’t come here and expect everything to be written/spoken in their native language.

well English maybe your common language and medium of instruction. in many countries the most common used language was their national language. why use Spanish if only a fraction of the population uses it. some countries uses English as their medium of instruction in their schools but it is not their national language.

when they say English they refer always to a country England, so why not say American English instead as your national language anyhow you have many words differs from British English but they have the same meaning. and the accent and pronunciation is very different from them.

This is AMERICA. ENGLISH should be the ONLY language. As the old saying goes “When in Rome do as the Romans do”. If people in this country don’t want to speak ENGLISH they can get out. Nobody asked them to come here. Nobody is holding them here (other than the ones that have committed crimes). However, I think if somebody wants to learn another language, feel free. But as for the OFFICIAL language of the US, DEFINITELY ENGLISH.
