If you have a bachelors of science in business can you teach earth science one passing the praxis exam in that area in new jersey using alternate route? OR do you have to major in the area you want to teach?

I want to get a PhD in European History and I want to become a lawyer also.
Could I do both- at the same time??
To become a lawyer it takes 7 yrs, and to get a PhD to become a College Professor it takes 8 years, right???
