How can I get into Dental Hygiene program?

Posted by Admin in Tuesday, October 11th 2011   Leave a reply

I hear that it’s very tough. But I’m from China and the secondary education is totally different between in China and in North America(I’m immigrating to Canada but I guess it’s similar in the US in education).

For example, I’ve seen a Maths college entrance exam paper of a college in Canada, and it was really easy, and I could get 100% correct. Does that mean I won’t have any problem in Maths prerequisite?

I know I’ll need English(I plan to take an adult high school course), Chemistry, and Biology, probably Physics as well.

Now I really want to know it, how tough are Chemistry, and Biology prequisites gonna be? I can’t find any college entrance exam paper on Chemistry and Biology. Since people say these’re tough and they spent sevral years to make it, then I think I should start now(I’m still in my mother country)

Can someone give me sevral examples of the TOUGHEST Chemistry and Biology prerequisite questions? Or examples of the test would be even better.

Thank you.
Can you compare the prerequisite tests with GRE? Which one is tougher? I do have some GRE samples. Thanks

How to become a high school teacher?

Posted by Admin in Monday, October 3rd 2011   2 comments already

I am already graduating with my B.A. in Anthropology this year, but are there M.Ed. programs I can go into to become a secondary education social science teacher? Or do I just need to go through a certification process? I would hate to have to do another bachelor’s degree, but I feel like I would of course need some training and practice on methods of education.

The difference between college and university?

Posted by Admin in Thursday, September 15th 2011   4 comments already

So soon I’ll be heading of to post secondary education but I don’t really know the difference between College and University.

My sister is going to both but all I hear about University, not college. She says College is more hands on but I need more advice.

So, whats the difference between the two?
What careers require both college and Uni?
Is it better to go to both?

How do you feel about illegel immigrants getting college funds?

Posted by Admin in Sunday, September 4th 2011   9 comments already

In April, members of Congress sponsored bipartisan legislation to repeal the provision in the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 that prohibits states “from providing a post-secondary education benefit to an alien not lawfully present unless any citizen or national is eligible for such benefit.” The Student Adjustment Act would allow certain minor immigrant children to gain legal status and permit states to offer in-state tuition and financial aid to undocumented immigrants. To be eligible, students must under the age of 21, have lived in the United States for five years continuously, and be at least in the seventh grade or actively pursuing admission to a college or university.

I live in Kansas, and will be graduating from Wichita State in 2012 for Secondary Education in History and Gov. I’ll probably teach in Kansas for a few years after college. But I was wondering how easy it would be to move to Iowa and transfer my license to teach there?

PS: For those who live there, can you tell me a little about what Iowa is like?
